A Street Called Desire

This was a photo documentary for Desire Street in New Orleans, LA. The street was home to the defunct Desire Street Car Line. One side of the street is still home to a vibrant community of musicians, artists, trinket collectors, and even residents with guard "alligators"--the other side, a ghost street. On August 2005, the street was changed forever after the levees broke during Hurricane Katrina, flooding and washing away historical homes and businesses. Long-time Desire Street resident, Jacquemo, shares and narrates the story of his street before and after Hurricane Katrina.
